Worship
Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 8:50AM Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope you’re doing well! Lately I’ve had it on my heart to discover what the true meaning of worship is. I asked myself “How can I worship in a way that is pleasing to God” “What is worship?”, “Why do I sing?” “How should I worship?” God knows how passionate I am about music, singing and leading worship, and I wanted Him to unveil this beautiful mystery to me. I believe Worship plays such a vital role in the life of Christians and it’s so powerful. We should be worshipping Jesus every minute of every day, never ceasing. Worship is so crucial in our lives that we desperately need it in order to be in full contact with life and by life I mean Jesus, He’s all around us. He encapsulates our life with worship and adoration. Jesus says that if we will not praise His name and worship the living God, even the rocks will cry out and creation will sing of God’s glory. My mind just boggles at the thought of this sometimes. The crazy thing is, the more we know Jesus the more we reflect Him and the more we reflect Him, the more we are being defined by Him. So, how do we worship in a way that is pleasing to God? It begins with the question, “What am I withholding from God?” Jesus needs to have all of us before we can have all of Him. The moment we surrender all, the moment Christ will reveal himself to us, and the more we can worship Him! This is such a beautiful mystery! Now when we worship, let us not confine it by what we can offer Christ through our worldly gifts such as our talent of singing, or playing an instrument but rather let our worship be confined through our spiritual gifts. When we begin to do this we will see a fruition. We will see God’s initiation of our worship grow through the defining of the spirit and lastly we will see our expression of love being poured out through our worship! May our hearts thrive to know Jesus more and more!
